Hong Kong College of Community Medicine welcomes you to take part in the Annual Scientific Meeting 2024 (the ASM) which will be held on 28 September 2024 at Pao Yue Kong Auditorium, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Jockey Club Building.

The Hong Kong College of Community Medicine (HKCCM) was incorporated in 1991 and has mission to improve health of our community. We have three sub-specialties, namely Public Health Medicine, Administrative Medicine and Occupational and Environmental Medicine. ASM is our annual platform to drive better quality of care, high quality professional training and high standard of practices on population health. With the theme of “Planetary Health in the Anthropocene: Now for Future”, we expect more than 200 delegates including many government officials, and senior hospital executives, top-notch academics, leading experts in the healthcare sectors to join this important event.

Human health and the health of our planet are inextricably linked. The gains in human health are coupled with a high price of degradation of the Earth’s ecological systems on a scale never seen in human history. We have entered a new geologic age called the Anthropocene in which humans are the dominant species shaping the planet’s future. In this Annual Scientific Meeting, we shall explore the cutting-edge scientific evidence and implications of planetary health, which is the ultimate determinant of human health.
