Edcom and Subcommittees




  The Education Committee, comprising Censors of the PHM, OEM and AM Sub-specialty Boards, is responsible for all training and education matters of the Hong Kong College of Community Medicine.

The Terms of Reference of the Education Committee are:
 
a. To advise on the training issues of trainees in all sub-specialties of the College.
b. To set up a formal system for training, assessment and accreditation of specialists in sub-specialties.
c. To maintain a registry of trainees, trainers and examiners of sub-specialties.
d. To review the training system regularly.
e. To recommend on training and consider on education matters proposed by Sub-specialty Boards.
f. To accredit training institutions of sub-specialties through an accreditation Sub-Committee.
g. To maintain the Continuous Medical Education records by its fellows through the CME Sub-Committee.

  Under the Education Committee, there are Training Centre Accreditation Sub-committee and CME Subcommittee.
     
  The Terms of Reference of the Training Centre Accreditation Committee are:
 
a. To visit each training centre at least once every five years.
b. To submit reports to Education Committee for endorsement after visits.
c. To update the College on the status or any other relevant information in writing regarding their trainees, trainers, training programmes, workload and facilities at least annually.

  The Terms of Reference of the CME Subcommittee are:
 
a. to develop a framework and criteria for CME requirement of fellows in accordance with the requirements of Hong Kong Academy of Medicine.
b. to approve applications for accreditation of Formal College Approved Postgraduate Meetings
c. to collect, monitor & maintain the CME reports of fellows
d. to prepare the CME report of the College
e. to assist in liaison work related to CME issues
